Apurva Bhansali CEO/CTO, President and Founder

Softex was founded in 1992 by Apurva and his late father Mahendra Bhansali. Mr. Bhansali oversees the company's operations, market direction as well as software product strategy. Mr. Bhansali is a veteran of the software industry with over 20 years of industry experience with companies such as IBM PC Company. Mr. Bhansali has led Softex, originally as the CTO, from the startup phase to a leading provider of identity management software, listed by Inc. magazine in 2000, as one of the Top 500 Fasted Growing Private Companies in the United States.

Mr. Bhansali holds a BS and a MS in Electrical Engineering from U.T. Austin.

Mahendra Bhansali, Founder

Softex was founded in 1992 by Mahendra and Apurva Bhansali with a goal to become a leading developer of software for computer OEM’s. Mr. Bhansali was the CEO of Softex and oversaw the company's operation and market direction until 1999. Mr. Bhansali was a veteran of the PC industry with over 24 years of industry experience with IBM PC Company where he was on the team that developed the first notebook computer.

Gregg S. Philipson, Vice President - Sales

Mr. Philipson has over thirty years of experience in the Technology, Data Communications and Security industries. He has traveled extensively working on security projects with both US Federal and State Law Enforcement Agencies and Foreign Government Agencies as well.

Mr. Philipson’s experience also includes executive positions at the Raytheon Company and Paradigm4, Inc.

Mr. Philipson, originally from Utica, NY holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in both Finance and Marketing from the University of Buffalo, Buffalo, NY. Mr. Philipson is a competitive marathon runner and he currently sits on the Advisory Board at the Holocaust Museum Houston. He was previously a member of the Board of Directors for Austin based Urban On-Line, Inc.

Alex Katrompas, Vice President - Engineering

Mr. Katrompas has over 15 years of executive experience in software development and information technology.

Prior to joining Softex, Mr. Katrompas was Director of Technology and Product Development for Pegasus Technologies, a software and engineering services company that developed products for the data visualization, artificial intelligence, optimization, and process control markets. He has extensive experience in the international marketplace.

Mr. Katrompas has a diverse background in business and computer science. He holds two degrees from Edinboro University, a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics as well as a Master of Computer Science with a concentration in artificial intelligence and heuristics from Kent State University.

Mr. Katrompas is an avid boater and a certified scuba diver and an accomplished martial artist.

Ralph D'Altilia, Vice President - Business Development

Mr. D'Altilia serves as the Vice President of Business Development for Softex. Mr. D’Altilia has been in the technology industry for over 35 years. Prior to joining Softex, Mr. D’Altilia held senior level management positions with I.B.M, Wang, Imagitex and Autonmatix as well as creating his own highly successful consulting company, Champion Marketing.

For 15 years Champion Marketing successfully worked with over 50 companies such as EMC, I.B.M, Spactec IMC, Wang, System Soft and ViaTech to deliver sales, marketing and business development expertise.

Mr. D’Altilia is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a BA in Economics and Psychology.
